Thanksgiving Praise

I am a quiet praiser - quite an oxymoron coming from this Pentecostal girl, shhh...don't tell anyone! See, when everyone around me is clapping, shouting and lifting their hands, I tend to bow my head, close my eyes and silently praise. Don't know why. I know how to clap and praise with the best of them...but it's something God's done in my spirit lately so I'll go with it.

And yet...

there are times...

where we DO need to shout our praises...

and it doesn't even have to be for anything other than...

we are SAVED!!!

So today, on the eve of Thanksgiving I want to say:

GLORY HALLELUJAH THANK YOU JESUS - I LOVE YOU!!!

He pulled me from the pit, turned my life around, showered His grace upon me and made me into a NEW creation. Anyone else relate? Do I hear any more HALLELUJAH'S out there? Come on, pull out that hidden Pentecostal--you know, the one who simply itches to burst out when you stop and think about what God's done for you. Almost makes you want to dance. (which we have been known to do, but not on the ceilings, I promise)

I'm going to end with one of my favorite Psalms. Okay, the whole book is one of my favorites, but this one is especially fitting for today:

Psalm 100
Shout for joy to the Lord all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness,
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his,
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise,
give thanks to him and praise his name,
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever,
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

So bring out your Hallelujah's alongside your turkey, there's no better side dish:)

What are you thankful for today?

  1. I'm thankful for a check to put in the bank today! LOL! I know that sounds silly in light of all the other things God has done for me and blessed me with but...still. :-)

And I love Psalm 100! It definately makes you want to shout and praise God! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Love the thought of bringing out the Hallelujah's alongside the turkey! You're absolutely right - "there's no better side dish"!

Thanks for stopping by Life Lessons! I know what you're talking about. Those days that I just hop into the day - I definitely recognize a difference. Nothing quite like starting the day in acknowledgment of the Savior! Time well spent! Have a beautiful Thanksgiving!
