Bookshelf Friday

So today I'm pulling my Bible off the bookshelf - or more accurately my side table. I've featured this book on my Bookshelf Fridays before, but it is a classic so it can be shared again...and again...and again:)

Last time I talked about all the stories you'll find in the Bible. Seriously. There are some amazing things going on in there. Today, though, I'm coming from a different angle.

Yes. It's full of stories (it's the inspiration for the ones I write), but more importantly it's our manual while here on Earth. And to use it, we need to know it.

I want to touch on this next week--hope you'll join me:) For now, have a great weekend! I'm spending it with my family...the whole bunch of them. Planning on writing a bit, reading a bit (just picked up a new book, Submerged), and hopefully enjoying the great outdoors. What's up with you?

  1. Hey Susan! A timely remember --while we're enjoying stories filled in the Bible, we need to remember that it is our life manual.

I hope you enjoy Submerged, and time with your family. I'll be up early doing manual labor -- ugh! groan! -- not my first choice for a Saturday morning, but it'll be good for me to step outside of my comfort zone. :-)

  2. I have heard awesome things about Submerged. I need to read it!

You're right - the Bible is amazing. I grew up in a Christian family and have been reading the Bible all my life. Sometimes it's easy to take it for granted, think (ridiculously) that "oh, I've read all that before." But it's truly a living, breathing book...filled with life-giving stories. I'm excited to see how you touch on this again next week!

  3. Hey, Susan! I love what you've said about the Bible, and I completely agree. Everything you need to know is in there -- I LOVE that!

We'll be visiting family, going to church, hanging out, etc. The weather is supposed to be really nice, so that's a plus. :)

    Enjoy your weekend!
