Blessing Wednesday

Recently we've found out some not-so-great news. My father-in-law was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer, and it's in his lungs. However, we have much, much to be thankful for. So, yes, we'd love your prayers, but today I want to stop and proclaim God's goodness even in the midst of all this. Because always, no matter what, He is worthy of our praise.

Today I'm so thankful for:

~the amazing, Godly man who raised my husband and has loved me like his own daughter for fifteen years now. I can remember the night we got engaged, he gave me a big hug and said, "You're one of ours now. Anything you need, you can call us too."

~Doctors and nurses.

~A PET scan report that was clear. They prepared us to find the cancer throughout his abdomen too, and it came back clear! PRAISE THE LORD!

~This wonderful family, and my cousin who squeezed us in to take our picture before Dad's not feeling so well (chemo actually starts today). Ya'll know me, Hubby & our kids, then that's Hubby's parents and Hubby's brother with his family (My niece and nephew are adorable, aren't they? Jack and Jillian...AKA Jack and Jill...:) )
My uber-talented cousin, Dan, took this photo of us. Check him

~God's faithfulness.

Hoping you all are enjoying a fantastic week. Mega blessings to everyone. Start counting and share some here, please:)

  1. My prayers and praises go up for your family, Susan. God is faithful and His work is done, keep proclaiming the finished work of the Cross!

I'm thankful for a great big thunderstorm that woke me up in the middle of the night and poured down some much needed rain in our little corner of the world! I'm also thankful my sister is visiting from Colorado (she lives in Aurora where the shooting took place) - I'm thankful she wasn't anywhere near that theater and that her and her little boy are in Minnesota for a nice long visit. I'm thankful for five more weeks of summer vacation and healthy children!!

Thanks for Blessings Wednesday! I love stopping by to count my blessings.

  3. Praying for your father-in-law and the family, Susan. What an encouraging attitude of praise in spite of the difficult time you're experiencing! God bless you!

*Today I'm thankful for your visit and comment over at Life Lessons. What a sweet compliment - thank you. I'm often shocked at how quick I am to retaliate when I'm angry. Good reason to meditate on the right things, huh? Great reminder that God is slow to anger - and I'm right there with you, desiring this characteristic to be a reality in my life! Have a blessed week, my friend!

  5. I'll join in with the other ladies, and say that your positive attitude and praise even in difficult times sets such a wonderful example. I'm praying for your FIL and family. (((HUGS)))

And can I just say, that is one good looking family you have there! And such a beautiful setting, as well. : )

Today I'm thankful for my dear friend, Helen, that came over for a visit today. We don't get a chance to visit often, but it was such wonderful fellowship -- I treasure her friendship so much. She's a dear sister in Christ who is such an encouragement. I just love her, and her visit truly blessed me today. : )

    Have a great weekend, Susan!
