39 & Holding

I was blessed to spend all last week in Colorado Springs. Check out the view from our room! God is beyond artistic, isn't He? Hubby and I got home late last night and I woke up this morning to...

my 39th birthday.

(Not like I didn't know it was coming, but here it is.)

I can't say I typically freak out at birthdays, because I mean, what's the alternative?? But I can say this one's making me pause.

Think about what the next year will bring.

A teenager is one thing! How am I old enough to nearly have a teen in my house? I remember being a teen! Oh boy.

But I've started to think about what I'd like to do before I'm 40. So here's my list:

~Run a 5K...well, run is a strong word. Maybe just complete one.

~Find an agent.

~Skydive--or take a hot air balloon ride. I'd settle for either.

~Travel abroad.

~Grow closer to God.

~Drive a bright orange convertible to the beach for Pronto Pups (only the world's best corn dogs)

~Apply to (and be accepted on) the Amazing Race with my BFF.

~Love my husband and kids even more than I already thought possible.

~Ride a roller coaster. (It's been years!!)

~Be a better friend. Sister. Daughter.

~Climb a tree.

~Memorize 25 verses:)

~Drink less coffee (ha...haha)

~Be joyful...everyday.

Okay. So the list could continue, but I'd like to hear some of your suggestions. These are things I'm really going to try and tackle.

I'll let you know how I do:)

And now I'm off to the gym. That 5k isn't gonna walk itself;)

I love your list. I could totally see you on Amazing Race. I'd actually watch it if you were on it. Praying for your dreams to come true.

    Happy Birthday, friend!

    1. Oh! I love that show - hopefully BFF and I are that good mix of crazy-but-not-too-crazy for them to take us.

And yeah, 39...but I know you're lurking around there too:)

    1. It's one of my favorite shows. I could totally do it with my BFF, but not my Hubby (he agrees!) :)

And skydiving makes me gasp too - so I gave myself the out with the hot air ballooning!

  4. Happy birthday, Susan.

What a great list. I hope you accomplish all of your goals.

Teenagers will either kill you or make you stronger. I survived, and enjoyed, raising two teenage sons. Technically, one will be a teenager until April. It's been a great year watching him mature and grow.

I hope you have a great year!

  5. Hi. Ended up here totally randomly and had to comment b/c I was surprised to read about Pronto Pups at the beach. Either we live in the same city, or the name isn't copyrighted. ;)

Oh, and happy birthday yesterday, hope it was wonderful!

    2. It's funny, b/c just a couple days before I wrote here, I was watching the big line form for their annual January opening while going to and from my son's basketball game. ;)

  6. If you want to ride a roller coaster, you should go to Cedar Point in Ohio. They have the biggest ones in the world and they just added a new one!!
