39 & Holding
my 39th birthday.
(Not like I didn't know it was coming, but here it is.)
I can't say I typically freak out at birthdays, because I mean, what's the alternative?? But I can say this one's making me pause.
Think about what the next year will bring.
A teenager is one thing! How am I old enough to nearly have a teen in my house? I remember being a teen! Oh boy.
But I've started to think about what I'd like to do before I'm 40. So here's my list:
~Run a 5K...well, run is a strong word. Maybe just complete one.
~Find an agent.
~Skydive--or take a hot air balloon ride. I'd settle for either.
~Grow closer to God.
~Drive a bright orange convertible to the beach for Pronto Pups (only the world's best corn dogs)
~Apply to (and be accepted on) the Amazing Race with my BFF.
~Love my husband and kids even more than I already thought possible.
~Ride a roller coaster. (It's been years!!)
~Be a better friend. Sister. Daughter.
~Climb a tree.
~Memorize 25 verses:)
~Drink less coffee (ha...haha)
Okay. So the list could continue, but I'd like to hear some of your suggestions. These are things I'm really going to try and tackle.
I'll let you know how I do:)
And now I'm off to the gym. That 5k isn't gonna walk itself;)

39??? No way!!!ReplyDelete
I love your list. I could totally see you on Amazing Race. I'd actually watch it if you were on it. Praying for your dreams to come true.
Happy Birthday, friend!
Oh! I love that show - hopefully BFF and I are that good mix of crazy-but-not-too-crazy for them to take us.Delete
And yeah, 39...but I know you're lurking around there too:)
Some birthdays slam into you with the force of a freight train, don't they? lolReplyDelete
Wishing you a Son-kissed birthday, Susan, and for the next year to be filled with everything you wish for and more. Love and hugs!
Yes! They do:)Delete
Thanks so much for my birthday blessings, Dora! Hugs right back at ya!
Happy birthday!! And good luck on all your goals. The skydiving one made me gasp...I hope you do it! :) And thought I've never watched Amazing Race, I'd totally start if you end up on it. :)ReplyDelete
It's one of my favorite shows. I could totally do it with my BFF, but not my Hubby (he agrees!) :)Delete
And skydiving makes me gasp too - so I gave myself the out with the hot air ballooning!
Happy birthday, Susan.ReplyDelete
What a great list. I hope you accomplish all of your goals.
Teenagers will either kill you or make you stronger. I survived, and enjoyed, raising two teenage sons. Technically, one will be a teenager until April. It's been a great year watching him mature and grow.
I hope you have a great year!
Thanks, Jackie! I'm well on my way:) And I'm glad to know you survived...gives me hope. LOLDelete
Hi. Ended up here totally randomly and had to comment b/c I was surprised to read about Pronto Pups at the beach. Either we live in the same city, or the name isn't copyrighted. ;)ReplyDelete
Oh, and happy birthday yesterday, hope it was wonderful!
Great to meet you Tish. And Pronto Pups are the BEST! One of my favorite all time treats:) Thanks for the birthday wishes!Delete
It's funny, b/c just a couple days before I wrote here, I was watching the big line form for their annual January opening while going to and from my son's basketball game. ;)Delete
If you want to ride a roller coaster, you should go to Cedar Point in Ohio. They have the biggest ones in the world and they just added a new one!!ReplyDelete
Happy belated Birthday, Susan! So glad that you got to enjoy a wonderful trip with your hubby! How fun!ReplyDelete
I've been 39 and holding for two years, lol. ;-)
I love your list of things that you'd like to accomplish this year -- I'm sure you'll have a blast whatever you do!
Sweetest blessings to you in the years ahead, Susan! (((hugs)))
By the way, I LOVE roller-coasters! :DReplyDelete
