Karen Gernaat!
Karen (who also happens to be my aunt...***virtual wave***) check out the bag on the right and email or Facebook me your choice.
Let's recap the names and verses we've done so far:
El Shaddai - The All Sufficient One (Isaiah 46:4)
Jehovah Nissi - The Lord My Banner (Proverbs 21:31)
Jehovah Shalom - The Lord is Peace (Psalm 34:14)
El Roi - The God Who Sees Me (2 Chronicles 16:9)
Jehovah Jireh - Our God Provides (Philippians 4:19)
And this week is Immanuel. Or Emmanuel. I'll take the meaning with either spelling because here it is: God with us. Many of you may already know this name of God, but it touches our hearts in such a way that we need to press it into our very minds and souls. So here is our verse for the next two weeks:
So Pin it, write it, copy it, whatever you need to do to start learning and come back next week so we can talk about it:)
Blessings, friends!
I used to recite the end of that verse to myself--the part about God being with us always--as a little kid before bed. It was so incredibly comforting to me...not that I was scared often or had any reason to feel insecure. In fact, the fact that I didn't struggle too overly much with insecurity probably had something to do with reciting that verse over and over. Haha! But seriously, it's an awesome truth--He's with us always. And then there's the admonishment at the beginning--to obey...everything. :)
ReplyDelete:) I love that -- " in fact, the fact that I didn't struggle..." see! That's what I'm going for. Having his word so close that the sword is always sharpened for battle!
DeleteSo comforting! And I needed to read that this morning.
ReplyDeleteAMEN, Jess:)
