It's the kick off to summer. BBQ's, corn-on-the-cob, lazy days in the sun, and enjoying time with family and friends. But that's not what this day is about, not really. To all my family and friends who have served and to all those I've never met but who have guaranteed my freedom...thank you. Those two words can never cover the sacrifices you've made for me and the ones I love.
Reading your post made me think...when we say thank you it's a start. How many veterans do we know that would enjoy sitting down with us and telling a little of their story? How many of our heroes are lonely now and would love a little attention? You've challenged me to find some of these great people and spend a little time with them.
